I guess I should have seen it coming, however if you had told me several years ago that I would be blogging almost daily, I would have responded with, " You bet, I'll also be the same weight I was in high school and running the marathon in NYC this year." I should have known I was "hooked" when after only a few months of blogging, I stopped in the "Moscow grocery" store while on a family vacation in Florida. ( "I will only stop by for a second" I thought. "... to read and post a quick note" ~ I'm not sure how many times I went into that store, but I should have known something was up when they starting yelling and saying hello each time I came through their door.)
Never say never, or at least don't close the door to learning, change, personal growth or achievement. I will testify, good things happen at any age. Some might disagree, saying an old dog can't learn a new trick or two. This one certainly did. (shud-up Grumpy)
A very wise person once told me " the thing you fear the most, is the thing that may destroy you." Those words changed my life... forever. I finally decided to face my fears head on, looking into the eye of the fear~ (yes, even frogs eyes.) After years of letting my own fear hold me back, thankfully, it all came to an abrupt end.
If someone takes the time to tell ( or write) you their opinion, give you their advice or decides to share their feelings with you, isn't it worth your time to listen ( or read) what they have to say? What if they give you ONE sentence that can change you life forever?
What if in that one sentence, the truth is revealed to you like you have never heard it before... is it not worth your time to take note?
I want to thank everyone for taking time from your day to read my post and for sharing yourself with me while we do this thing we call "blogging". Without all of you leading the way, the Blogster community would not be what it is today.
In this place where people are quite different in a number of ways, I think most of us have learned tolerance. Different opinions & views may be totally opposite from our way of thinking..... so many different people, so many different ways to look at things~ I bet there have been times many of us had to get up and walk away from our computer, having bitten a hole in our bottom lip until we have had time to process what we have read, really give it some thought, then ask ourselves, " Do I really want to respond to that post or is it a valid point, something I need rethink myself?" Many times we agree to disagree and I have seen rebuttals posted that were written with beauty and eloquence ~ almost poetic and are always a pleasure to read.
To all of you oldsters, (the folks who have been around forever and a day) and to the young 'ums, thank you for letting me peek into your window, for sharing the biggest part of yourself, your thoughts.
With fond affection,
Cindy
