~2006 Voodoo Music Experience Festival Returns to City Park~

Keep an eye out. The Wizard is getting the info together.

The New Orleans Voodoo Music Experience held annually in City Park was, in the Wizard's opinion, one of the better local events. Due to the damage to the City Park location by hurricane Katrina, the 2005 Vooodoo Music Experience was held in other locations in a best they could do, show must go on, make do.

The 2006 Voodoo Music Fest is back strong this Fall in City Park on Saturday, Oct 28, and Sunday, Oct. 29 !

It will be moved from Marconi drive to the Wisner Boulevard side of City Park

The two-day music festival, will be anchored by the Red Hot Chili Peppers Oct. 28, followed by Duran Duran Oct. 29. Other scheduled acts include the Wu-Tang Clan, The Flaming Lips, Social Distortion, Kings of Leon, Ozomatli, Secret Machines, Broken Social Scene, Drive-By Truckers, Blue October, Jack's Mannequin, Yerba Buena and the Rentals, among scores of New Orleans artists including the Soul Rebels and Hot 8 brass bands, Imagination Movers, Amanda Shaw, Morning 40 Federation, and Ballzack. Sounds like a real wing ding! The Wizard longs for Dr. Rocket, The Sisters of Mercy, and Verbal Abuse, but time marches on, and in today's music world The Wizard wishes this group was booked for Voodoo Music Fest, www.teymusic.com   . Maybe if enough folks ask, they will get a New Orleans booking, or a gig here, and come visit New Orleans. Weekend passes good for both days at Voodoo Music Fest are $55.00. You can visit the link to the official site below to find out more about events, VIP passes, hospitalty areas, reserved viewing stands, and how, and where to buy tickets. Be ready for all the Flash.
