...from Kentucky Motor Speedway

and back home again.

My little red headed grandson has always wanted to go to a Nascar race and all I need is an excuse to fly up to see him... so that was what I did this past weekend.

A concert by "Smashmouth" started the event and we watched the drivers qualify.

I think one of the things I enjoyed best was listening to the drivers talk to the pit thru the headset. Made it pretty darn exciting.

All the kids were home this weekend, going to weddings and showers. The house was full with the friends, kids and dogs so I doubt anyone really knew I was gone. Lynell came up last week and stayed thru the weekend. She is sewing a boat cover for the fishing boat so that folks can sleep on boat without getting bug bites when we head out to Fla @ the end of the month.

Thats all the news from here. Hope you guys have a good week.

Sounds like a roarin' good time, Cindy! You get a checkered flag from me for giving your grandson a Nascar memory treat!

Cindy Lou! What a great memory for you and your grandson! My dad took me and my brothers to the Daytona 500 when we were young and I still love to go to the races!

NASCAR!!  Just the word makes my ears hurt.  But what a great grandmother you are to do that especially for the red-haired-grandson.  He will carry that memory the rest of his life.

Not a favorite of mine, but I certainly wouldn't hesitate to experience a race, especially if I had an avid fan like your red-haired-grandson to go with!  What an exciting thing to do and share together!

With gas prices the way they are... I'm surprised that NASCAR can keep going.  Well... it sounds like fun anyway.  I am happy for your diversion...

and yet, for me, the thing about your blog was the fact that your house is "the house".  when you were growing up, you know how there was the friend with "the house" that had way cool parents and everyone seemed to hang at their house.

That was NOT my house.  there were never kids and activity at my house. I never knew what that meant when i was a kid, but I do now. if I were a mom, I would want to be the kind of mom that had a house that kids liked to hang at.

that's the sign of a good mom.  a cool mom.  a nice mom.  a loving mom.  That, my dear, is your tell.  that is your tell of who you are.  congrats on that.
