I need some romantic ideas

June 1, 2008 / by MentalHealthRN

My son and his bride will celebrate their first anniversary on June the 28th ( actually anniversary is that Sunday. They are also going to be in a friends wedding that weekend which left out any chances of a weekend get away.

My son decided to rent the same honeymoon suite at the bed and breakfast where the reception was held, also thought he would get a limousine to pick them up from the "other wedding" to take them there afterwards.

He is stumped on what he can do for her that would be "special" since time is so limited. They both have to return to work and school on Monday, the actually anniversary date.

Any romantic ideas I could pass on to him?

Thanks y'all.

Maybe a lovely necklace with the Number 1 with something sweet on the back. Or perhaps a heart locket with their pictures inside.  Jewelry is always a winner.  An ankle bracelet would be good too.

If sticking with paper... a nice poem or love letter on some really pretty paper, maybe rolled like a scroll and tied with a pretty paper ribbon.  This could be given with another gift, like maybe one that Joan suggested (they all sound so nice).

He might be able to call the B&B ahead of time to arrange (if not already done or planned by them) to have flowers in the room.  Champagne and wine are always nice...but, for something different, maybe the little table in their room could be set for "tea for two".  And, or, maybe "something" special can be "waiting" for her with breakfast...like that poem, for instance, rolled up inside her napkin.

I'm sure that whatever he chooses to do and give will be just perfect in her eyes.

These are great ideas--what songs were at their wedding? A wonderful CD with their special song playing and hubby dancing again with his bride is romantic to me.

What a great guy to be so concerned about making the anniversary special. You raised a good one! My favorite gift - A card my honey gave me telling the hundred reasons he loved me. The card could go along with paper.

Also, lingerie is always fun to get, but I sometimes think it's more of a gift for him!

"Hello, is this room service?.  Good.  Would you mind bringing up a couple of croissants and some hot coffee?   Great... oh yeah... is there any chance I could get you to put a little note on the tray that says, 'One year is just the beginning of one life together... when a man such as I loves a woman such as you.'... Thanks."

I know tis is way too late but...where is the imagination here?  using special stationary or even some one-off hand made multi colored paper with an expresion of love, poem, letter of lust fom one to the other, or special picture of sigificance and brief note below, framed and hung on the wall of the B&B they are going to. Multi colored confetti all over the bed and floor of thier room or paper flowers spread every where. A paper sculpture, piece of art work, (the paid deed to their own home would be less romantic but very exciting!  I have to admit a lot of the things I think of are from a mans perspective giving to the woman. What would he like (or is he just interested in getting her in the mood?).
