~Orchid Arrangement~

April 27, 2007 / by MentalHealthRN

A very busy week here.... in addition to working all week at the office, I had to make a trip yesterday afternoon to the florist to pick out center pieces for the rehearsal dinner.

The arrangements they had in mind were different than mine.  I ordered black table cloths for 5 tables, along with napkins.    Each table will seat 10 people   ( 8 comfortably.)  I decided to have one orchid in 3 different size vases, each has a votive candle holding at the top. On the bride and grooms table there will be an additional tall glass vase with a stalk of beautiful orchids.

The ladies said, " this is nice, we've never done this before"... I got nervous and decided to look on line this morning. I see its been done before, thank goodness.

Any thoughts as to what I can use for napkin rings?  The colors are black and champagne, maybe I could use a touch of deep purple to match the orchids.

What do you think?

I'm absolutely no help here.....but the pictures are great! Orchids are a beautiful flower. Hope someone with an eye for design can help you out.

Those are beautiful. For napkin rings, what about those little twists that have the fake flowers on the end. I'm sure I'm not describing them right, but they are miniature fake flowers that have 3-4" long "stems". The stems are twisty and bendy, you could wrap them around the napkin.

yes, thanks, along with the satin ribbon suggested by martne~ I just googled them, they are silk flowers, lovely and although artifical, very realistic! Thanks for the idea[THUMBUP][THUMBUP]

Have you thought of using purple satin ribbon in a simple square knot? Maybe 3/4" to 1" wide? It would reflect the candle light.
